Local Artists

Johnny Staats & the Delivery Boys

Born and raised in West Virginia, Staats caught the bluegrass bug right from the start.  With his mother playing piano, his father playing on the guitar, and his sister on the banjo, it seemed only natural that Johnny would get his first mandolin at the young age of seven.

The  Henry Clay Fleming Photographs
Ravenswood's First Photographer
Henry Clay Fleming captured life in Ravenswood on film until his death (at 96 years of age) in 1942. His work was lost until crates of glass plate negatives were discovered in a barn near Athens, Ohio in 1984. The negatives were restored by the Massillon Museum in Massillon,  Ohio. They offer an extraordinary glimpse into the town's past. If you are interested in learning more about the Fleming Collection, you can contact the museum director, Christine Shearer by telephone at 330.833.4061 or at cshearer@massillonmuseum.org.
